Frequently Asked Questions

What should I wear?

I get this a lot. What you choose to wear will affect how you feel which will come through in the images. This is a special occasion so my advice is to dress it up and have fun with it! When you book a session with me, you'll receive my styling guide to help you prepare.

You'll want to coordinate but not look too match-matchy.  Mix basic and neutral tones with a bright colour or patterned print. Do not have more than 2 people in a bright colour or print. Please avoid wearing white. It's fine as a layering piece but not the main colour.

Remember to think about your feet! Socks and shoes do get captured in some images and the last thing you want is the focus to be on your footwear and not on you.

Do you provide RAW images?

I do not provide raw images to clients because they are unfinished. Raw images are like raw ingredients to a chef and they would never just serve you a plate of uncooked ingredients.

Taking the images is one part the creative process. The editing is an equal, if not, more important step. This is where the magic really comes to life. As your photographer, you are booking based on my artistic style and I must maintain control of that. You will receive high resolution jpegs with a print release for personal use.

What happens if it rains?

I am always watching the weather. I will update you in the days leading up to our session. If it's not looking good, we will have a plan B. Options could be we move the time earlier or later the same day (if we're both able to do so). We could discuss an alternative date. If it's taking place a rental location, the session would have to move forward rain or shine.

What happens if one of us is sick?

If one of you is really under the weather, I am more than happy to oblige. I understand that kids can pick things up quickly. One day they are fine, the next day they can be running a fever.  How everyone feels will show in the images.  I want you looking and feeling your best so we will work together to find an alternative date that works for us both.

What are your payment terms and types?

A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to book, with the remainder due by the session date. You can pay by credit card or e-transfer (e-transfer is preferable).

How and when will I receive the photos?

Honestly, I'm just as excited as you to see what we got. I'll get to work right away culling and editing the images. I select the images to be edited but do not worry. I provide a good variety so you have plenty to choose from. I'll deliver more images in your gallery than what is included in your collection. You will be able  to download the number in your collection. If you want more images, you're able to purchase additional photos or the full gallery. Images will be ready 2-3 weeks from the session date.

Will you Photoshop my images to hide any unwanted spots, wrinkles, etc?

Minor edits will be made to all of your images, but I believe our imperfections are what make us beautiful & unique. If there are specific edits you want, let me know in advance. Depending on the number and complexity of edits, additional fees may apply.

When should I book a maternity session?

You’ll want to book your session between 28-34 weeks, or between the 7th - 8th month. Multiples should be booked between 24-28 weeks.
