MY STORY

"The journey to success is not a straight line but a winding path with many detours. Embrace the journey and keep moving forward."

I first learned photography on film in high school and immediately fell in love with it. Even in the digital era, there is something magical about freezing a moment in time that still takes my breath away.

In 2013 I started a career change into photography. My dad was diagnosed with cancer and I moved home to help care for him. It was then that I reconnected with a lifelong friend who took me under her wing and showed me the business of wedding and portrait photography. This outlet was a lifeline during a very difficult time. After Dad passed away later that year, I decided to return to Toronto and obtained a post graduate certificate in photography. I worked with other portrait and wedding photographers as an assistant and second shooter for weddings, while also taking on clients of my own and working full time.

It wasn't until after the pandemic and the birth of my son that I decided to pursue photography full time. However, soon after my husband became sick and has been battling various autoimmune issues ever since.

Losing my dad so unexpectedly,  my mother in law the year my son was born and going through Ben's health journey with him has given me a unique perspective on life. I really don't take anything for granted and find joy in the everyday moments.

My mother lives with us in Puslinch County. As an only child, it was important to me to be able to care for her in her senior years, especially with having lost her partner much earlier than ever expected. Living in a multi-generation home highlights the passage of time and the importance of spending time with loved ones.

My family never invested in photos. It was heart-wrenching when we lost my dad because we didn't have many recent photos of him. I have hardly any pictures to show my son of his grandpa. I don't want to let that happen to others.

We all have a camera in our pocket nowadays but selfies only go so far and AI can't make authentic moments.

A professional photographer captures memories that simply can't be mimicked any other way.

Professional photography is an investment in yourself and your loved ones, and a decision that you'll always be glad you made.

Let's talk about how I can help you turn your everyday moments into memories you'll cherish forever.

Just as I anticipated watching my images come to life in the darkroom, I still get those butterfly feelings when looking at them on my computer for the first time. I can't wait to see what was captured! But most importantly, I can't wait to see how my clients react when they view their photos. One of my greatest joys is to be able give the gift of memories to others.
